Cocora Valley

We are in the town of Solento about a 45 minute bus ride from Armenia and this is a lot more like it. Up in the hills and nature. It is a bit of a tourist hotspot but we’re staying in an otherwise empty hostel outside of town. The only sounds are the stream nearby, birds and the occasional thunderous moving of furniture in the heavens. It is pretty blissful. It is off-season so there is not very many people around. We were the only people out last night by the look of things. Early to bed for us.

Solento is the main gateway to Cocora Valley, a very popular spot for trekkers. It is iconic for its population of Quindío wax palms. It is lush green and lovely hike. We did a good 15k around today. Where words fail, my heavy camera (adding a lot to my sweat) shall do some of the talking for me:
